If you can remember when you were little kids, your mom probably told you the stories of "Little Red Riding Hood" and " The Three Little Pigs". If you remember, these stories both had the "Big, Bad Wolf" in them. And when these stories were made, people hated wolves. They thought of them as the "Big, Bad Monsters." But far away, on another continent, the wolves were respected. And these were bigger wolves than in Europe. These people respected the wolf greatly. They were the Indains from North America. They learned from the wolf and how it could be strong on it's own, and within the family group. They respected and loved the wolf. They would use the skins of their "god" so they could get really close to their food, bufflo. Wolves rarely eat bufflo, and so the they were not afraid of these wild dogs. Sometimes the Indians would catch the cubs and raise them with their own dogs and these wolf-dogs would make wonderful hunting dogs. They loved to hunt carraboo and deer. They would tell stories of how the wolf was such a wonderful animal and companion. They would use the wolf-dogs for protection.
